Welcome to the course
How this course works
Every lesson combines a fully written teaching, practicallearning tips, a small home practice, a reflection, and a set of printable worksheets. Read, listen or skim — whichever way your brain learns best today.
- You do not have to complete this course in order. Follow what your family needs this week.
- The written lesson is the source of truth — read it slowly, mark it up, come back to it.
- Print two worksheets to start. A stack of unopened PDFs helps no one.
- Return to a lesson after you've tried it. Real learning happens on the second read.
Key messages
- You are the intervention.
- Anxiety is treatable — and highly responsive to the right parenting response.
- Small brave steps, repeated with warmth, change everything.
Full welcome script
Welcome. I'm so glad you're here.
If you've arrived at this course, chances are your heart has been carrying a quiet worry for a while — that something isn't quite right, that your child is struggling more than they used to, or that reassurance stopped working somewhere along the way. Please take a breath. You're in the right place.
Over the next ten modules, we're going to do three things together. First, we're going to demystify anxiety — because when we understand what's actually happening in your child's brain and body, we stop taking their behaviour personally and start responding with clarity. Second, we're going to unlearn a few loving instincts that unintentionally feed anxiety. And third — and this is the part that changes families — we're going to build courage. Not big, dramatic, brave-jump-off-the-cliff courage. The quiet, repeatable, one-small-step-a-day kind that stacks into a childhood.
I want to say something clearly before we begin. You are not too late. You are not doing it wrong. And you are the most powerful part of this plan. Therapists like me love the moments a child sits on our couch — but the hours between sessions, in your kitchen, at your bedside, in the car — those are the hours that heal.
A quick word on what this course is, and isn't. It's education, not therapy. It won't diagnose your child. It won't replace a clinician if you need one. What it will do is give you a way of seeing your child, a language for what's happening, and a set of tools you can practise tonight.
You'll get the most out of this course if you go slowly. One module a week is perfect. Read the lesson. Try the home activity. Then come back and tell me — in the reflection box — what shifted, and what didn't.
Pour something warm. I'll see you in Module One.
