About this pathway

Written by a therapist, for families in transition

Friendships shape children's confidence, emotional wellbeing and sense of belonging. From learning how to join a game and navigate disagreements to recognising unhealthy friendships and building lasting confidence, social skills are some of the most important life skills children will ever develop. This therapist-created pathway helps parents understand the social challenges children face at every stage of development while providing practical strategies to strengthen communication, empathy, confidence and healthy peer relationships. Across six comprehensive courses, parents will learn how to help children build meaningful friendships, resolve conflict, develop emotional intelligence and thrive socially both in and out of school.

  • Understand how social skills develop at every age and stage
  • Help children start conversations, join in and feel included
  • Support shy and socially anxious children to build courage at their own pace
  • Teach healthy conflict resolution, boundaries and responses to bullying
  • Grow empathy, perspective-taking and emotional intelligence
  • Raise kind, confident friends who build healthy relationships for life
